The FREEDOM fast

 Isaiah 58:6

King James Version

6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen?

to loose the bands of wickedness,

to undo the heavy burdens,

and to let the oppressed go free,

and that ye break every yoke?

Now, we go to the meat of this verse, showing how GOD wanted His people to fast that day.

It's good for all of us to know about this.

For now, we will know the true meaning of a "fast", in service to GOD.

So, let's check how other Bible versions translated "to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke":

what it really means

    to worship the Lord.

Yeshayah 58:6

Orthodox Jewish Bible

Isaiah 58:6

The Voice

6     No, what I want in a fast is this:

Isaiah 58:6

Wycliffe Bible

6 Whether not this is more the fasting, which I choose? Unbind thou the bindings together of unpity, either of cruelty, release thou [the] burdens pressing down; deliver thou them free, that be broken, and break thou each burden. (Rather, is not this the fast, which I would choose? To unbind the bindings up of pitilessness, or of cruelty, to release the burdens of oppression, to set free those who be broken, and to break each burden.)

We now see, as born again, how much we need to help our brothers and sisters in need.

SPIRIT wouldn't have led me to this defining verse, unless, and until I was born again.

This is a thing of the SPIRIT, and only born agains, believers, and children of GOD, can understand, and be led to.

JESUS was clear about what being born again means:

John 3:5-7

King James Version

5 Jesus answered,

Verily, verily, I say unto thee,

Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit,

he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh;

and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

7 Marvel not that I said unto thee,

Ye must be born again.

That's the only way we can be instructed by GOD's SPIRIT.

Only THROUGH JESUS, can we have the peace, joy, strength, focus, and clarity to do the will of the FATHER.

This is the day of fast GOD wanted.

That all may be free of oppression.
